A Message to the Business Community of Camden & Euston - 6/11/20
Dear BID Members,
We hoped to never be communicating with you under these circumstances again – but unfortunately, as of 5th November 2020 the UK has officially been placed back into national lockdown restrictions. We share your disappointment at this announcement and know that the four weeks ahead are going to be difficult for everyone – but hopefully we can once again find solace in the fact we are all in this together.
Staying familiar with the latest rules and restrictions, particularly those that apply to your business, is important to keep yourself and others safe and avoid unnecessary fines – visit the government website for a detailed breakdown. It is also key that you are accessing all financial support available to you, the government have created a useful ‘business support finder’ to help with this. Click here for an incredibly helpful update from Camden Council regarding the latest announcements from the Chancellor, covering furlough extension till March 2021 and business grants.
As your recently re-elected Business Improvement District, our members are our number one priority. Your survival is vital to the unique nature of our neighbourhoods, and whilst this pandemic has had a huge impact on businesses, it has also highlighted your incredible resilience, a willingness to innovate and adapt, and the unlimited love and support of our communities. We will continue to lobby on your behalf and keep the wheels turning for Camden Collective, Drummond Street and Camden Highline to ensure we are fighting for what you need now and planning for the future.
We have never been prouder to be a part of Camden & Euston and will continue to do all we can to support you! Please visit our lockdown hub for more information and as always, get in touch if you require anything else.
Thank you,
Camden Town Unlimited & Euston Town.

A Message to the Business Community of Camden & Euston. 20/03/2020
To all of our business members, and the wider business community of Camden & Euston.
First of all, we hope you are all bearing up in these challenging times. All corners of our communities will be feeling the effects of the pandemic – hopefully, we can find some solace in the fact that we are all in this together.
As a Business Improvement District, our business members are our number 1 priority. Their survival is vital to the exciting, unique nature of our neighbourhoods. Whilst this crisis is having a huge impact on our businesses, it is temporary. We cherish our town and all of its components, and we will do all we can to help it adapt to a changing world and see it come out the other side.
We have worked incredibly hard on building a strong network of influential partnerships, successfully lobbying both local and national government on high-profile projects. We have proven our pragmatism during unexpected events, working in constantly changing environments.
Realistically, the scale of the situation means business support has to be led by the Government. However, we are working closely with local Council to understand the actions they are taking, and the details of the financial support that is available. We are here to answer questions any members have, or connect you to the right people.
In the meantime, the majority of our services continue:
LOBBYING
Our CEO Simon Pitkeathley is the Small Business Champion on the Mayor’s London Enterprise Action Partnership, is Co-Chair of the Cross River Partnership, and Chair of Camden Giving. Leader of Camden Council Georgia Gould and Cllr Nadia Shah sit on the Euston Town board, and Cllr Danny Beales sits on the CTU board. We have worked hard to cultivate these vital relationships and will continue to use our influence to fight for the protection of our members and the business community.
CAMDEN COLLECTIVE
Our coworking space remains open. We provide hot desks free of charge and subsidized offices to startups. Now, more than ever, we need to think innovatively and pragmatically about the vacant spaces on our high streets, and how they can be utilized to support our small business community.
SAVING YOU MONEY
Our partners Meercat continue to be on hand to allow members to benefit from joint procurement, in some cases saving thousands of pounds in areas including recycling, insurance and energy. Give them a call on 014 4441 6529 to find out more.
COMMUNITY & CHARITY PROJECTS
Our funding of the Youth Employment project via Camden Giving is continuing with huge success, and we are so proud to say that the organisation’s activities are being maintained.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
It is vital that we react to current events with total dedication and focus. It is also vital that we maintain sight of the future. We have built, with our members, an exciting vision for our neighbourhoods. We are working on projects that will bring our public realm to life, benefitting all communities and contributing to a thriving local economy. Whilst we temporarily focus our energies on helping local business access the support they need, know that we will soon resume exciting conversations that look to the future, to new green spaces, arts and culture events, tackling climate change and implementing innovative streetscape design.
Please get in touch if you have any suggestions for ways we can be of help and keep an eye on our page for temporary support services we’ll be offering during this time. Thank you, and stay safe!
