Delivering the Creative Quarter
The Creative Quarter vision sets out a range of aspirations for Camden Town, Euston and King’s Cross to achieve their full potential. It has been compiled from informal discussions with key and public stakeholders.
- To create physical and economic links between the areas that will enable them to maximise social and economic opportunities. The ongoing developments of Euston and King’s Cross should be stitched together, increasing permeability and helping to support the business community. Improving walking and cycling routes will not only provide healthier, low-exposure links but also relieve pressure on public transport.
- To provide direction and context for the ongoing developments in each area. Delivering on Section 106 agreements will strengthen relationships with the local community and enable true improvements to the area to be made, alongside commercial growth.
- Identify opportunities for public sector planning, increasing the supply of housing whilst maintaining the area’s historic character.
- To consistently support areas of investment so that the allocation of funds will ensure a well-balanced share of development that truly enhances and supports communities.
