The Productive City: Towards a New Proletariat?

30th March 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

We’re hosting LDNCITYCLUB’s Urban Table #02 on Wednesday March 30th.

The Productive City: Towards a New Proletariat?

There is a come-back of production in post-fordist cities. Entrepreneurial spirits are supported, hinterlands of production created and workplaces are generated. Nevertheless, productive spaces are rarely achievable and often unaffordable. As part of this, and in response to the burgeoning costs of offices and live work space, creatives have begun to recycle old buildings out of need for them. This makes way for new innovative uses, and reviving productive potential in decrepit areas. Hence the question is how can alternative, dynamic open workspaces and typologies be made viable and accessible?
